Conclusion

At the moment SYSmark 2007 is a headache at best to techs/reviewers and a waste of money to those who have to purchase it. I would really feel bad for the poor soul who shelled out the $499.00 of hard earned cash for this only to be frustrated and sorely disappointed in its lack of performance and stability. BAPCo really has been a let down lately and that is a bummer to me as I have been a supporter and fan of heir products for many years. Big changes need to be made over there to ever regain my confidence and use of their products.

Futuremark will shortly be releasing a new version of its PCmark test software and I would wait until its release and see how well it works. The new PCmark is supposed to be an in-depth batch of tests in the BAPCo fashion meaning multi-3D and various professional level programs being used in its makeup. SYSmark 2007 preview is a mess, and should be avoided unless given freely for you to waste your time on. Maybe BAPCo will read this, but I doubt it as they seem to have fallen off the face of the earth as far as support and contact goes. BAPCo needs a revamping and resurgence of its roots, until then I would simply use other test programs and save yourself some stress and some valuable time by simply avoiding it.
