Conclusion

In conclusion, we can see that in recent years the technology transfer from desktop to mobile has reversed. Where once everything flowed only in one direction: display, case/motherboard and even processor design are instead filtering from the portable sector outwards and back again. While a stark transition from previous times, the nature of the beast has changed. It's possible to extract performance without paying the penalty of excessive heat, and that is now showing up in processor design. Clearly, to move forward in search of more performance, this is an avenue that has to be pursued further and will likely be a key focus of chipmakers in the short-term future.
